About the Role
We’re looking for a detail-oriented, highly organized Payroll & Accounts Payable Administrator to join our Business Operations team. This role is perfect for someone who loves accuracy, enjoys working with numbers, and takes pride in ensuring employees and vendors are paid correctly. You’ll manage end-to-end payroll processing and oversee our accounts payable cycle—all while supporting a smooth, compliant financial operation.
What You’ll Do
Payroll
- Process semi-monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Maintain employee records, deductions, timekeeping data, PTO balances, and new hire payroll setup
- Respond to employee payroll questions with professionalism and clarity
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Prepare payroll-related reports for Finance and HR
- Assist with year-end tasks such as W-2s and audit requests
Accounts Payable
- Review, code, and enter vendor invoices with accuracy
- Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices, reimbursements, and recurring expenses
- Maintain vendor files and W-9 information
- Resolve invoice discrepancies and communicate with vendors as needed
- Act as the point of contact for vendors related to payment and managing accounts
- Assist with month-end closing by preparing AP reports
- Support budgeting and audit activities
Other
- Oversee benefits administration
- Complete internal MITC reporting via excel
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in payroll, accounts payable, or a related finance role
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (any major)
- Strong understanding of payroll laws and AP best practices
- Experience with accounting or payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
- Confident working with numbers
- Excellent communication skills and a high level of confidentiality
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines with accuracy
- Proficiency in Excel (formulas, sorting/filtering, basic reconciliations)
Logistics & Hybrid Schedule
At MITC, we support a flexible, hybrid work environment that empowers our team members to do their best work— at home or in the office.
- Most roles, including this one, follow a hybrid schedule, combining remote work with in-office collaboration as needed.
- This role requires 3 days per week in office. During the first 6 months, in-office requirements may be higher. Once trained, the in-office requirements may be reduced.
- Employees may choose to work in office full time if preferred.

Compensation
- Salary: $50,000 – $70,000 with a set up plan based on quarterly evaluation
